Key Staff
Since its formation in 2008 by Kimberly Burton, BPS has grown into a firm of over 10 professionals. The key staff are highlighted below.
Ms. Burton has over 20 years of experience working in the public and private sectors, focusing on community & transportation planning, hazard mitigation, environmental studies, and noise and air quality analyses. Ms. Burton also teaches planning courses at the Ohio State University.
Ms. Mansfield is an AICP certified planner with over 10 years of experience in multi-modal transportation, land use, community, sustainability, and environmental planning. She is a skilled Planning Manager, as well as an expert in creating and managing active transportation and sustainability projects.
Mr. Lenner has over 15 years of experience working with local governments. His skillsets include community & land use planning, downtown revitalization, economic development strategies, zoning & development regulations, park & recreation planning, and public finance & capital improvements.
Mr. Carr has over 20 years of experience in business management and operations. He manages the business operations for BPS, and he assists with fieldwork. Mr. Carr is also U.S. EPA trained in Renovation, Repair, and Painting to assist with housing rehabilitation inspections.
Mr. Pinckney has over 40 years of experience as a nationally-recognized noise and air quality expert. Prior to joining BPS, he served as the Ohio DOT’s Noise and Air Quality Program Manager. Mr. Pinckney is also a licensed Lead Risk Assessor experienced with housing rehabilitation projects.
Ms. Vincent has over 15 years working with public and nonprofit organizations to positively impact communities and move plans forward. She has expertise in implementing successful economic and community development strategies, as well as experience in historic preservation, neighborhood revitalization, and sustainability.
Mr. Roths has over 40 years of experience in hazard mitigation planning, disaster recovery, and emergency management. He is a certified planner and has received Outstanding Service Awards from the Association of State Floodplain Managers and Ohio Floodplain Management Association.
Dr. Leonard is a Senior Planner in Economic Development & Global Strategies. His research focuses on the politics of inequality and its consequences for economic development. Dr. Leonard has also worked with over a dozen research centers and policy think tanks across Africa and Latin America.
Ms. van der Zwaag is an Associate Planner with a background in Public Health, Community Planning, and Public Engagement; she is also a Certified Tourism Ambassador. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning at the Ohio State University.
Mr. Morris is an Associate Planner with over 3 years of experience. He is an expert in Geographic Information Systems and developing online interactive dashboards, and he has experience in community planning and zoning, downtown revitalization, and international development.
