Client: City of Westerville, Ohio
After completing an update to their comprehensive plan, the City of Westerville began a three year process of rewriting its zoning code and subdivision regulations. Due to the complexity and length of the rewrite process and BPS’ familiarity with Ohio zoning, the City retained the firm to manage the team of consultants tasked with revising the regulations. The three phase process included a thorough comparison of the comprehensive plan’s consistency with the zoning code and subdivision regulations, a complete diagnosis of both sets of regulations, and an in-depth rewrite. The code also combines the best of conventional zoning with a form-based approach to specific areas targeted for redevelopment.
