Background

Burton Planning Services was formed in 2008 by Kimberly Burton, President of BPS. Our mission is to provide our clients with sustainable planning and environmental solutions that are timely, affordable, and customized for the client’s specific needs.

BPS is a DBE and EDGE-certified company in multiple states and jurisdictions and is also a licensed engineering firm in Ohio. We are partners of the National Complete Streets Coalition and American Planning Association’s Sustainable Communities Division, in addition to “Friends” of the Transportation Research Board’s Noise and Vibration Committee. We also have 7 environmental and engineering prequalifications with the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The firm’s multi-disciplinary staff include certified planners, a licensed engineer, LEED accredited professionals, and a sUAS Remote Pilot, along with environmental specialists and instructional designers.  The staff have comprehensive skillsets in community planning and development, multi-modal transportation planning, environmental and resiliency planning, and education and public engagement.
