Since its formation in 2008 by Kimberly Burton, BPS has grown into a firm of over 15 professionals. The key staff are highlighted below.
Ms. Burton established BPS in 2008. She is a licensed engineer and certified planner with 23 years of experience working in the public, private, and academic sectors. She has a wide variety of expertise in community and transportation planning, hazard mitigation, noise and air quality analyses, and education. She has degrees in civil engineering, city and regional planning, and educational learning technologies. Ms. Burton is also an Associate Professor of Practice in City & Regional Planning at The Ohio State University where she teaches courses on sustainability and resiliency, transportation, green building, future cities, and municipal planning and zoning.
Ms. Mansfield is a certified planner with 16 years of experience working in the public and private sectors, with a variety of expertise in community planning, active transportation, park and greenway planning, sustainability, and age-friendly planning, in additional to conducting public engagement and developing and facilitating training and e-learning courses. She has degrees in city and regional planning and geography. Ms. Mansfield is adept at developing and managing programs and projects.
Ms. Yeoman is a planner with 12 years of experience working in the public and private sectors, focusing on community, sustainability, land use, and transit planning. She has degrees in city and regional planning and architecture. Ms. Yeoman is also an advocate of public engagement and equitable solutions.
Ms. Ridge is a professional engineer with over 10 years’ experience in transportation planning and design, active transportation, environmental planning, noise analyses, and community studies. She has two degrees in engineering. Ms. Ridge also enjoys engaging with the public and stakeholders on projects.
Dr. Rodríguez is an educator with 20 years of experience in education, architecture, conservation, urban planning and design, and place-making. She has degrees in environmental design, architecture, and theory and history of architecture. Dr. Rodríguez has extensive experience in teaching, course development, learning tools, education equity and accessibility, and cultural management.
Mr. Pinckney has over 40 years of experience as a nationally-recognized noise and air quality expert. At BPS, he focuses on noise and air quality analyses, field studies, and public engagement. Prior to joining BPS, he served as the Ohio DOT’s Noise and Air Quality Program Manager.
Mr. Morris is a planner with 5 years of experience working in the public, private, and academic sectors, focusing on resiliency, hazard mitigation planning, GIS mapping, and international development. He has degrees in city and regional planning and anthropology. Mr. Morris is also a LEED Green Associate.
Dr. Leonard is a planner and researcher with more than 20 years of experience working in the private, not-for-profit, and academic sectors, focusing on economic development, social equity, and international planning. He has degrees in government, economic and social development, and political science. Dr. Leonard also teaches at The Ohio State University.
Mr. Borger is a certified planner with 9 years of experience working in the public and private sectors, focusing on regional transportation planning, public engagement, and funding assistance. He has a degree in urban planning and policy. Mr. Borger also has extensive experience in planning for rural areas.
Dr. Arroyo is an environmental planner with 24 years of experience in the private, public & academic sectors, focusing on sustainable food systems, hazard mitigation, public engagement & policy development. He has degrees in city & regional planning, biology & environmental sciences. He also has a specialty in food waste prevention, composting & materials reuse/recycling.
Mr. Gowdy is an instructional designer with 12 years of experience working in special education, computer technology, and e-learning course development. He has degrees in behavioral sciences and in educational learning technologies. Mr. Gowdy is also a certified elementary K-6 and special education K-12 teacher.
Mr. Foster is an instructional designer with 35 years of experience working in risk identification and mitigation in the U.S. Military. He has degrees in homeland security and public safety and in educational learning technologies. He is also a licensed drone (sUAS) pilot.
Ms. Cadieux is an instructional designer with 7 years of experience working in the medical field and instructional design, focusing on training and e-learning development. She has degrees in health and rehabilitation sciences and in educational learning technologies. She enjoys developing creative education solutions using multiple platforms
Ms. Peggau is a planner and environmental specialist with 6 years of experience working in the private and academic sectors, focusing on resiliency, hazard mitigation planning, and public engagement. She is pursuing a degree in city and regional planning and has a degree in earth systems science. Ms. Peggau also works at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center on education and outreach.
Ms. Carr is an associate planner with one year of experience in the private sector, focusing on environmental and resiliency planning. She is pursuing a degree in city and regional planning and has a degree in economics. Ms. Carr is also skilled at implementing plans and project management.
Ms. Russell has 5 years of experience working in the public sector, focusing on coastal resilience, coastal vulnerability, and program management. She has degrees in environmental sciences with a focus on coastal sciences. Ms. Russell is also a skilled program manager and researcher.
Mr. Kwarteng-Crooklynn is planner with 5 years of experience in transportation planning, sustainability, and economic development. He has degrees in project management, international studies, and city and regional planning. Mr. Kwarteng-Crooklynn is also skilled in equitable public engagement and is passionate about creating plans that benefit everyone.
Mr. Reis is a planner and engineer with over 4 years of experience in the private sector, focusing on safety analysis and recommendations, active transportation planning, roadway conceptual design, and the transportation elements of environmental review. He has degrees in civil engineering, city and regional planning, and applied mathematics. Mr. Reis also has a successful track record helping local agencies apply for federal and state grant funding for transportation projects.
